Once available only to nobility and the extremely wealthy, above-ground entombment in a mausoleum has been the preferred choice for families at the Italian Cemetery for generations. Beginning in 1904 with the first “community mausoleum” built by famed architect John Porporato, the Italian Cemetery has continued to build beautiful, high-quality mausolea for families that prefer the security and prestige of a mausoleum, and a clean, dry environment for their loved ones.
Our newest offering is the Lasting Memories Mausoleum located on the north campus of the Italian Cemetery. This new structure includes both indoor and outdoor spaces. We offer a full selection of both individual and companion spaces at all levels.
The new Lasting Memories Mausoleum is two buildings in one, allowing for an equal number of outdoor and indoor crypts. Ground was broken for the new mausoleum in January 2011, and the new mausoleum was dedicated and blessed by Father Efrem Trettel on All Souls Day, November 2, 2011.
